Tennessee Governor Bill Lee also spoke out about the event, encouraging fans to buy tickets and set a new attendance record at Music City’s Nissan Stadium.
“Music City is roaring back and it’s about to be louder than ever thanks to my friend [Garth Brooks],” Lee tweeted. “Get your tickets and help set an all-time attendance record at [Nissan Stadium]. Let’s show the world that Nashville is open and country music is stronger than ever.”

The concert will mark Brooks’ first-ever concert at Nissan Stadium. The country music superstar announced earlier this year that he was hitting the road again, after having to come off of the road for more than a year because of the pandemic.
“You don’t want to start up just to shut down again,” Brooks told Good Morning Utah. “So you need a big city where you know people are going to respect each other, and they’re going to respect their views. There’s gonna be people there with masks and without masks, and we need to look at each one the same. We’re all there to love one another. We’re all there to sing, I’m hoping, because the more you sing, the less I have to work, and it’s the most fun gig on the planet. It’s crazy.”
There’s a good chance that Brooks will have some guest artists at his Nashville show, including his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
“We don’t go anywhere without each other anymore,” Brooks said. “We said, ‘Why would we be married to be apart?’ So we do everything together. There’s probably not a handful of nights a year that we spend a part. So Lord willing, the queen will be with us.”
Brooks’ Nashville show will take place on July 31. Tickets will go on sale beginning on June 25 at Ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks.
