The Gatlin Brothers are taking the stage for one night, to perform a live Fan Favorites streaming event, to be held at the Franklin Theater, located just outside of Nashville. The trio, made up of Larry, Steve and Rudy Gatlin, will perform on July 25, for an intimate audience of only 70 people in the theater. The event will also stream online at FranklinTheatre.com.
“I had this idea about 10 years ago when we did a live concert at Bristol Motor Speedway,” Rudy said n a statement. “The promoter told me thousands of fans tuned in online and it gave me the idea for Gatlin Brothers ‘Fan Favorites.'”
The Gatlin Brothers, who have been together for more than 40 years, will perform several of their big hits, as well as album cuts that their fans still enjoy.
“We’ll sing songs that we don’t usually have time to do at our concerts, but often get requests for,” Rudy said. “But we’ll be sure to sing ‘All the Gold in California’ just like The Oak Ridge Boys would never do a concert without ‘Elvira.'”
The Gatlin Brothers certainly haven’t been idle while self-isolating at home. They also released a humorous quarantine video, singing a cover of Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” with Charlie Daniels, Ray Stevens, Pam Tillis, Aaron Tippin, Steve Wariner, Terry Bradshaw, Johnny Bench, Carl Jackson and TG Sheppard.
“Willie’s likeness should be on Mount Rushmore,” Larry said of the video. “This is our tribute to our old Texas buddy. Willie Hugh Nelson, from Abbott, Texas, ‘on loan’ to the world from somewhere in outer space. He ain’t of this world. I mean that in a good way. Wherever you are right now, Will, just know that Larry loves ya. So does the rest of the world.”
The event will mark the first live music event at the Franklin Theatre since the coronavirus pandemic began. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, June 26, at FranklinTheatre.com.
