Gaylord Opryland’s SoundWaves Attraction Open to Locals For a Limited Time

If you’ve always wanted to visit Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center‘s SoundWaves water park, but didn’t want to spend money for a hotel room, you’re in luck. The four-acre indoor and outdoor water attraction is opening to Nashville residents from July 27 to August 13, as the hotel is forced to limit large gatherings due to COVID-19.

“Our focus now is on the leisure business,” Gaylord Opryland spokesperson Tammy Henry told The Tennessean. “People are not traveling long distances, so we are offering this summer fun close to home.”

SoundWaves opened in the expansive hotel last year. The $90 million park boasts a movie screen, indoor surfing, 11 water slides, a 45-foot slide tower, a kids pool as well as two adults-only pools, rock climbing, rapid and lazy rivers. Private cabana rentals are also available.

There are other options for Nashville residents to enjoy SoundWaves. A discounted overnight guest room package is also available, starting at just $219 for a family of four. A party room is also available for rent for six to 30 guests, starting at just $42 per person. SoundWaves is taking every precaution to keep guests safe during the coronavirus pandemic, including implementing social distancing and limiting the number of guests.

SoundWaves, which re-opened in June, assured guests that it would be safe to visit the attraction in spite of COVID-19.

“The summer leisure travel season is quickly approaching and Gaylord Opryland Resort, along with our four-acre upscale indoor/outdoor water attraction – SoundWaves – will re-open to visitors who are anxious to get out and celebrate summer,” Vice-President and Market General Manager John Adams said in a statement when announcing the reopening.

“Guests will be able to enjoy amenities of the resort,” he continued, “as well as the thrill of riding the waves or relaxing while floating along the lazy river at SoundWaves, an experience that is exclusive to Nashville and is fun for the entire family.”

Admission is $49.99 per person. Children ages three and under are free. The passes are only good Mondays to Thursdays, and online reservations are required. Parking is also available for $10. Find more information here.
