George Strait, Keith Urban to Be Inducted Into the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Two country music superstars are the latest to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Both George Strait and Keith Urban are among this year’s list of inductees to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, part of a cast of musical superstars that also includes Green Day, Depeche Mode, American Idol‘s Fantasia Barrino, the B-52s, the Isley Brothers, Busta Rhymes and Prince.

“Each honoree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective fields,” said Peter Roth, chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee. “The committee and I cannot wait to see our honorees becoming part of this world-famous walkway!”

Strait and Urban join an impressive list of country music artists who are part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, including Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton and more.

For some, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a celebration at the end of a career. But both Strait and Urban are still making music, with both artists releasing more music in 2024.

Strait recently announced the release of Cowboys and Dreamers, his 31st studio album. The 72-year-old, who just set a new concert attendance record in the United States, has already released “MIA Down in MIA” and  “Little Things” from the new record, which will be released on September 6.

Urban also has a new record in the works, although he has yet to announce a title or release date.

“We’ve got a lot more new songs coming very soon, and a whole album,’ Urban said in a video shared on social media. “I’m so psyched for you guys to hear that. And then more shows. More dates coming up. More festivals. I can’t wait to see you out on the road soon. I love you.”

We already know that Urban’s next set of tunes, which he redid when he was dissatisfied with the original project, includes his current Top 20 single, “Messed Up As Me,” “Straight Line,” and his “Go Home W U” duet with Lainey Wilson.

“The album got shorter, forty minutes, top to bottom,” Urban explained (via Country 103.7). “The sequencing was important, as to how the album starts and how it ends. The stories, the tempos, the energies, and everything that happened in between are like an 11-song set list for me. It all made perfect sense to me.”

Each inductee has two years to schedule their ceremony. More information can be found at WalkofFame.com. Strait only has four more dates on his stadium tour with Chris Stapleton and  Little Big Town. Find his music and tour dates at GeorgeStrait.com.

Urban has yet to announce a tour in 2024, but he will head to Las Vegas in October for his HIGH in Vegas residency. Find all of Urban’s music and upcoming shows at KeithUrban.com.
