Hayley Hubbard, wife of Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, and Taylin Lewan, wife of Tennessee Titans’ Taylor Lewan have launched Feeding Nashville, a nonprofit created to bring meals to those affected by both the March 3 devastating tornado, and the ongoing issues to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are incredibly grateful to live in a community like Nashville that comes together in a time of need, and is so supportive of one another,” Hayley and Taylin said in a joint statement. “Seeing this unity inspires us and sparked the thought of ‘families feeding families.’ We love giving back and this is the first time we’ve launched our own nonprofit initiative. We hope you will join us!”
Hayley and Taylin are working with Nashville’s Chris Polley, Executive Chef of True Food Kitchen, and Ryan Reisdorf, Founder of Placemat. Their goal is to both support local chefs and restaurants while also providing food for those in need.
Feeding Nashville has a goal of providing 100 meals a day for two months. In addition to those impacted by both the tornados and coronavirus, 80 meals a day will also be set aside for healthcare workers. $50 feeds a family of four, with the money going to subsidize local chefs providing the meals.
More than $173,000 has already been raised, thanks to generous donations by several prominent people in Nashville, including Tennessee Titans’ quarterback Ryan Tannehill and wife Lauren, Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins, Scott Borchetta and wife Sandi, Shane and Michael McAnally Baum, Amy Brown (as part of the #PIMPINJOY movement), Nashville Predators’ Roman Josi and wife Ellie, and Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and wife Brittney.
Feeding Nashville plans to continue serving the Nashville community after the immediate needs due to the tornados and coronavirus end.
