Home Free Announces New Member, Adam Bell-Bastien, to Replace Austin Brown

We now know who will be replacing Austin Brown in Home Free. The five-man group announces that Adam Bell-Bastien will take Brown’s place, starting at the end of next month.

Home Free announced the news on social media.

“Today, we’re opening the newest chapter on Home Free,” the group shares. “Please make welcome our new(ish) member: Adam Bell-Bastien! Adam shares some Home Free history already, so for some of our fans from the earliest days, Adam may not be *completely* new. For a period of time after Adam Rupp and his brother, Chris, founded the band – and just a few years before we went on The Sing-Off in 2013 – Home Free was definitely a rotating cast of talented characters. We had been lucky enough at times to have Adam lend his talents to us during those years.

“Life is full of twists and turns, and we’ve learned that to handle that change is to embrace it with open arms,” Home Free continues. “Today, we’re more excited than ever about having him join Home Free full time. Starting in July, you’ll see Adam join us on stage. His first show – lucky him – will be stepping onto the stage at the Grand Ole Opry on July 31, 2024. He’s a silky smooth tenor, and he’s going to be an incredible addition to both our sound and spirit. We’re excited for y’all to get to know him.”

Bell-Bastien also shared his excitement about being an official member of the legendary group.

“Hey Home Fries, Adam Bell-Bastien here, and I am so proud to say that I am the newest member of Home Free,” he says. “Can’t wait to see you out on the road, and to sing for you, and make some music for you. See you soon.”

In February, Brown announced that he was leaving Home Free later this year to pursue other interests.

“Life is beautiful, life is long,” Brown told Everything Nash in March. “We all go through seasons. And for me, it’s a new chapter. It’s a turning of a page. I’m always going to be in Home Free in my heart. And I’m just excited. I’ve got an incredible wife. I want to be home. I want to figure out a way to not be on the road as much these days. I’ve loved it for a decade, and then one day I just realized that I think it’s time for me to slow down.”

Brown initially planned on being with Home Free until the end of their Crazy(er) Life Tour, although those plans have since changed.

“We still got a lot more to do here,” Brown said earlier this year. “We still have so much music to make. We’ve got at least six more months of me being around at least. And it feels like we still have the Super Bowl in front of us. I’m so focused on just being here and present with my boys. I love these guys so much, and I’m just grateful for the time we had together. And, I’m looking forward to seeing where life takes me, and where life takes these guys. We’re friends at the end of the day, always will be. I’m just excited for the next chapter for all of us.”
