Home Free has a lot of new music coming in 2025. The five-man group reveals they have something new in the works, although they aren’t quite ready to share all of the details
“We just turned in the master,” Tim Foust tells Everything Nash, adding that they are keeping some of the details to themselves, at least for now.
“I will say that in some ways, this album is a departure for us, and in other ways, not at all,” Foust teases.
Diehard Home Free fans need not worry. The guys vow they will still make the music their fans have come to expect from them since the beginning.
“You’re going to get some of that same old Home Free that people know and love,” Adam Chance explains. “But, I think our fans — and I know they are grateful for this — we put out so much music. And this one is a way for us to do something that’s a little bit different. Not too different. But a little bit different.”
Home Free is also keeping mostly quiet about their upcoming tour, which they hinted about earlier this year. At the time, Foust said that each show would be unique to each city, with the songs they perform determined by the fans.
“I’ll say that we are toying around with the idea later in the year of possibly doing a tour in which every show is different, and the setlist is dictated by the fans,” Foust said at the time.
All of the members of Home Free spend a lot of time together, due to their rigorous tour schedule. But perhaps surprisingly, they all still get along really, really well.
“I think all of us play the role of task master in different ways,” Chance reveals. “It depends on what that is. It’s either that there’s one of us kind of leading the charge, or none of us at all. That can happen sometimes too, where we’re all just sitting there not doing anything. We like to do that.”
Adam Bell-Bastien is the newest member to join Home Free. Still, Foust says that they have all learned how to work well together, especially amid the demands of touring.
“We’re all very respectful of each other’s needs and the communal space,” he reveals. “We’ve developed this familial vibe out on the road, not just us but our crew that travels with us. It’s where we live, so we try to respect that.”
Bell-Bastien wasn’t a stranger when he joined Home Free, taking the place left vacant by Austin Brown. But now, with almost a year as part of Home Free, it’s like he’s always belonged.
“I’m feeling really good. I was actually a little disappointed that we didn’t do a spring tour, because I started to miss the bus life. These guys are like, ‘Calm down, new guy,'” he says with a laugh. “But I really love it. Any time I get to spend with them, it’s like I’m still having a lot of new experiences. We’re doing a lot of press things, which is the most I’ve ever done, but like everything else, I feel really well supported in just sitting in a room with these guys, talking to people I’ve never met before. I’m just encouraged every step of the way.”
Home Free is returning once again to perform at CMA Fest. They also have an exciting show on their own, while in Nashville for the four-day festival. Home Free will perform at City Winery on June 8, for their 25th Birthday Bash. They recently released their take on “I Am Not Okay,’ Jelly Roll’s hit single.
