The Oak Ridge Boys are well into their Christmas in Tennessee residency at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, but soon they will have a special guest. The Oak Ridge Boys revealed on social media that Home Free will join them for one night, on December 20, the night before Home Free’s performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
The news was shared along with a video of the Oak Ridge Boys’ Duane Allen and Joe Bonsall, and Home Free’s Tim Foust.

“This will he a night of nights as our brothers [Home Free] will be stopping by to visit and sing a few songs with us … then you can see THEM the next night [at the Ryman],” the iconic group tweeted.
Joe also spoke about the importance of doing Christmas in Tennessee, especially this year.
“It’s a big dinner and then a big Christmas show, so instead of being on the road for 30-some days this year, like we always did for Christmas, or more, we’re gonna be right here at home every night, singing at Opryland,” Joe said. “It’s gonna be great, and it will help us, as most people in the music industry have hurt this year a lot, because we haven’t worked, it will help us out a lot to get to work. We’re just praying and praying and praying that nothing bad happens and it stays on, and if it does, we’re gonna go down there and sing our hearts out every night.”
After Duane hinted that there might be a surprise guest, Tim quipped, “I know some surprise guests who happen to have a lot of free time on their hands.”
The Oak Ridge Boys joined Home Free for their recent Warmest Winter holiday special, which aired six times online. The two acts will also reunite next year to perform as part an all-star musical tribute to Lee Greenwood.
Home Free will perform songs from their recent Warmest Winter album at their upcoming Ryman show, which will take place on December 21. A limited number of tickets will be sold to see the show in person, and livestream tickets are also available. Find more information at Ryman.com.

One small correction. The quip that was mentioned in the article was said by Tim, not Austin.
I knew that!! I was reading another story with Austin and accidentally typed his name. Apparently I need more coffee… 🙂
