Home Free’s ‘When Will I Be Loved’ Celebrates Four-Legged Friends [WATCH]

Just when it seems impossible for Home Free to top their creativity, they come back with a surprising new video, this one an unexpected twist on “When Will I Be Loved.” The song, written by Phil Everly and first released by the Everly Brothers in 1960, takes on an entirely different meaning when Home Free makes the song about their love of animals, especially dogs and cats, who are the real stars of the video.

Home Free teased the new take on the decades-old song earlier in the week on social media, by posting a photo of all five members with a few beloved canines along with a couple of cats, saying “No, we will not be giving you any context for this photo. You’ll just have to wait and see.”

On Patreon, Home Free reveals that they will not be releasing any more videos in August, although a new single, from their upcoming new album, will soon be available.

Home Free will spend much of the next few months on their Road Sweet Road Tour. Maggie Baugh is joining the all-vocal group for the first round of dates, followed by Casey Barnes, who will open for Home Free for three dates, while Erin Kinsey will tour with the all-vocal group for 11 dates.

The tour will also include songs from their upcoming record, only a few months after their The Sounds of Lockdown project was released.

“For the past four months we’ve been hard at work in the studio preparing some new original music,” Home Free said when announcing the tour. “This fall, we can’t wait to share it with you on the road.”

While Home Free hasn’t shared many details of their next album, it will likely have plenty of influences in country music, which remains their favorite genre, in spite of their ability to perform all styles. And hopefully, the next set of tunes will include a few collaborations as well.

“We’re real country music fans,” Austin Brown previously told Everything Nash, speaking of the diversity of songs the group records. “So we look up to everybody in this industry … We know that Dolly Parton has at least heard a pitch from us. She was interested last year, and she was like, ‘Maybe next year,’ ’cause she had a thing last year. So who knows. There’s no validity to that. That’s just a hope. Ideally, we’d love to work with Dolly. And one of my favorite artists in country music of all time is Travis Tritt. I’d really love a chance to get to work with him.”
