New music is likely coming from Jason Aldean later this year. The Georgia native, whose 9 album was released in 2019, hints that he is almost finished working on his tenth record, which he hopes to release in 2021.
“We’re actually going back in the studio in a week or two to try and finish tracking everything,” Aldean told The Tennessean. “I’ll probably do all the vocals in June, and hopefully have an album that drops later this year. That’s what I’m hoping for.”
Aldean is also ready to hit the road again. He just announced his Back in the Saddle Tour, kicking off this August in Virginia Beach, with HARDY and Lainey Wilson serving as his opening acts, along with Dee Jay Silver. Aldean announced the tour while performing JASON ALDEAN LIVE: from The Bonnaroo Farm.
“It’s been emotional being back on stage with my band for the first time in a year this weekend,” Aldean said. “It’s made us all even more ready to get back to life as we all know it. Being on the road makes all of us – the band, the crew and me – happy and I haven’t felt this excited about going on tour in 15 years.”
Aldean was reminded of how much he loves performing while on stage at the Bonnaroo Farm.
“I’m looking forward to just getting back to life as we all know it,” said the singer. “I think stuff like this kind of gives a glimpse to people that we’re getting on the other side of it now.”
Aldean is not only ready to get back on the road for himself, but also for his employees.
“I’ve got guys that work on my crew that have had to take other jobs,” Aldean said. “They’re pouring concrete or working construction or doing whatever to stay afloat until we can get this thing back up and running. So it’s felt good to look around and see everybody happy to be back together and working.”
Now that Aldean has spent so much time away from his fans, he vows to always appreciate the opportunity to perform.
“I had a feeling on stage last night that I don’t think I’ve felt in the last 15 years,” Aldean shared. “It was (like) doing something new again, for the first time. And, I think when you do this stuff as much as we do, it’s easy to take it for granted a little bit.”
