Jason Aldean‘s wife, Brittany, is working hard at eating healthy in 2021, but thankfully she doesn’t have to do it alone. The mother of two, who is using the South Beach Diet to help her eat well, says her superstar husband decided to join her in her new eating habits.
“Our lifestyle is very social,” Brittany tells Everything Nash. “We entertain often, so it’s easy to just pick up pizza, pick up a beer and be in the party, and in the moment. And that’s okay to do, because I feel like you don’t want to lose your sense of life. For me, I want to be able to still indulge on certain days and stuff, but what makes this diet so easy for me and fun is because I can still have these awesome days. And if I maintain that for a majority of the time, then it makes those days more fun, and I don’t have that guilt trip of having pizza or having the beer.
“Jason’s doing it with me,” she continues. “He always says, ‘Well, you’re not going to get all fit and looking great, and me not.’ I’m like, ‘Well, come on then!’ And so, he just joined. He’s like, ‘You’re not doing it alone.’ I’m like, ‘Well, you’re welcome to do it with me.’ It is easier when both of us do it, because one person’s not indulging in all the bad things, and you have to watch it.”
Brittany has enjoyed focusing on eating well, but she admits there is one thing that is very, very hard to give up.
“Wine, hands down,” Brittany says of her biggest struggle. “That is my vice. I love it. As far as food, I love sweets. So candy. I like gummies. I don’t like chocolate. I’m like a weird gummy worm kind of person, or an Airhead or something. I skip dessert, always at dinner, always at lunch. It’s just not my thing. But I love my wine. And it has lots of sugar.”
Brittany and Aldean had more time at home than they planned in 2020, because of the pandemic. While she is grateful for the quality family time, the 33-year-old is also ready to return to life on the road again as well.
“We’re good in the sense of, we have spent a lot of time together,” Brittany tells Everything Nash. “We’ve been able to be blessed and be home and be a family. And Jason’s watching things with the children that he probably wouldn’t have otherwise, being on the road. But we’re ready. We’re excited to get back to tour life and a sense of normalcy.”
