Jason Aldean and his family are safely back in Nashville, after evacuating their Florida beach house amid threats of the wildfires. The “Got What I Got” singer posted a sobering photo of the smoke billowing from the fire, taken right before they left.
“This pic was taken yesterday from our driveway in Florida,” Jason wrote on Instagram. “Prayers going out to all that have lost their homes and businesses in our little beach community, but a huge huge thank you to all the firefighters in the panhandle for working around the clock to get these fires under control.
“Thanks to everyone who has reached out to check on us,” he continued. “Our family and our house is ok and as of now we are back home. What a crazy year it has been!! I’m ready for 2021 already.”
Jason’s wife, Brittany, also spoke out about the fires, sharing a few photos in her Instagram Story as they were evacuating. To date, at least 33 homes have been destroyed. The fire was reportedly started by someone burning illegally on his property. An investigation continues.
Jason had to postpone several dates on his We Back Tour, due to the coronavirus pandemic. His family decided to self-isolate in their Florida home, while they are renting Kane Brown’s house, until their dream home is finished being built.
“It’s where we want to be from now on and kind of raise our kids,” Jason previously told Taste of Country.speaking of their massive new mansion. “It’s one of those things where I just said, ‘I’ve worked hard over the years. If we’re going to do this, let’s build what we want, and not sit here in five years and go, ‘Man, I wish he had done this or that.’ We made sure we knew exactly what we wanted and when, and started building it.”
Updates to Jason’s tour will be posted on his website.
