Jelly Roll is a new man. The country music superstar reveals on social media that he has lost more than 100 pounds, and is committed to losing even more.
“Next year when you all see me, you won’t recognize me,” he boasts. “I’m going to get under a pile of weights in a way that I never have.”
Jelly Roll travels with nutrition coach Ian Larios, who prepares healthy, high-protein meals that he enjoys while on his Beautifully Broken Tour.
“We just passed the halfway point of the tour, and Jelly Roll has been crushing it,” Larios praises, adding that Jelly Roll is also walking, boxing and playing basketball while on tour. “He just surpassed his 100-pound weight loss … The 100-pound weight loss from his last tour is huge.”

In a recent post on social media, Jelly Roll reveals that he has been focusing on his health this year.
“Part of this journey has really led me back to my childhood,” Jelly Roll writes. “I’m starting to feel a difference. Been back walking, soaking up sun, playing basketball. It’s deeper than just losing weight. I’m getting back in touch with myself in a way I haven’t in a long time. I feel less inflammation, I feel less pain, I have more clarity. I’m a little tired and sore but that’s a small price to pay. The transformation has begun.”
Earlier this year, the 39-year-old said he had already seen evidence that his work was paying off.
“I’m probably down 70-something pounds,” Jelly Roll told People. “I’ve been really kicking a–. I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I’m doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I’m eating healthy right now.”
Jelly Roll, who showed off his slimmer figure during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, has plenty to celebrate besides his weight loss. His latest album, Beautifully Broken, recently topped the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, for the first time in his career. When the record was released on October 11, Jelly Roll also dropped a surprise deluxe record, Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up the Pieces),six more songs, all collaborations, with Keith Urban, ERNEST, Halsey, mgk, Russ, and Skylar Grey.
Jelly Roll just celebrated another No. 1 single with “I Am Not Okay” from Beautifully Broken. The success of this song in particular means the most to the singer-songwriter, since it’s about mental health, a topic he is passionate about.

“This means more to me than people will ever know,” Jelly Roll said, when the song hit the Top 10. “To have a Top 10 on country radio is always special but to have it with a song about mental health is even cooler.”
Jelly Roll hasn’t just done the work on his physical health, but on his own mental health as well. After being first incarcerated when he was just 13 years old, and being charged with a felony when he was just 16 years old, Jelly Roll now understands that his childhood, which included being bullied for being overweight and his mother’s own issues with mental health, contributed to the poor choices he made.
“I’ve been able to do the work and forgive myself for being that, for being what I was, but I definitely did a lot of work to change my whole outlook on people and love… I didn’t cry until I was 33,” Jelly Roll said on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast (via People). “Now I can’t quit. I mean, it’s like, I thought I’d caught up by now, but I mean, I still just, just for no reason, I’ll just sob.”
