Anne Wilson got the surprise of a lifetime at the recent Faster Horses Festival in Michigan. The Christian singer, who performed earlier in the day on the Next From Nashville stage, was invited by Jelly Roll to join him for his headlining set to sing “Save Me,” taking the place of Lainey Wilson (who was the headliner the following evening).
Wilson shared footage of the moment Jelly Roll invited her to sing with him, and the quick change job she did to get ready for the milestone moment.
“When Jelly Roll asks you last minute to sing with him and you say YES!!!!!,” Wilson captioned the video.

Wilson also shared a clip of their duet as well, which began with high praise from Jelly Roll.
“Lainey Wilson could not be here tonight, but I would like to welcome to the stage one of the greatest people I have ever met, and her name is Miss Anne Wilson,” Jelly Roll said, by way of introduction. “I am happy to have you sing with me, Miss Wilson. You lead the way.”

Their surprise duet earned the hearty approval of thousands of fans, as well as Lainey, who publicly praised the two for their collaboration.
“My Wilson girl. Love you. Keep on shining that LIGHT like you do,” Lainey commented on the video.
Wilson just released her own REBEL album earlier this year. Lainey joins her on the project, along with Jordan Davis and Chris Tomlin, which marks Wilson’s first country album, after releasing My Jesus in 2022.
“I feel like being a person of faith and following Jesus makes us rebels, because the world that we live in today, if we have faith, somehow we’re the odd ones out,” Wilson said when the record came out. “For me, I wanted to be bold in that. I wanted to take the message of the gospel to country music, and to stand firm in the truth of what I know is true, and not back down in what I believe in, and stand firm in it.”
It was “Save Me” that changed everything for Jelly Roll and his career. The song came to him at a time when the entire world was in turmoil, unaware that it was the beginning of a superstar career in country music.
“I actually wrote this, it was the middle of 2020,” Jelly Roll recalls on The Howard Stern Show. “We were still spraying boxes with Lysol. It’s the only time in my career this has happened, and I don’t want to sound like a quacko when I say it, but truthfully, I heard ‘Somebody save me,’ that melody in a dream to the point that I thought I stole it.”
