Jelly Roll Promises ‘Biggest Transformation,’ Sets Ambitious Goal for 2026

Jelly Roll has already lost a lot of weight, but he still has a lot more he wants to lose. The 40-year-old lost more than 110 pounds, but vows to lose even more — a lot more. In fact, Jelly Roll has set a big goal for 2026, one that will take a lot of hard work and dedication to accomplish.

“I want to be on the cover of Men’s Health by March of 2026,” Jelly Roll says on his wife Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast (via American Songwriter). “That’s my new goal. I want to have one of the biggest transformations.”

Already a country music superstar, Jelly Roll chose to go public with his health journey, to help others who might also be struggling.

“I think that people who become as big as I became, when they lose the weight, they’re kind of ashamed,” the “Liar” singer says. “They’re so ashamed that they go hide and lose the weight … then they come back out and they don’t really know how to interact with the world.”

“I wanted to lose it in front of everybody,” he says, adding, “I wanted to bring people along with me.”

In a world that is notorious for only accepting a certain body image, the Nashville native feels compelled to show others that anything is possible, even for someone who is morbidly obese.

“What I want the world to know, and I want people to see … is that I didn’t become successful because of my weight. I became successful in spite of it,” Jelly Roll says.

Jelly Roll admits that his weight came from addiction, something he struggled with his entire life.

“The battle was with the food addiction, changing the way I’ve looked at food for the last 39 years,” Jelly Roll tells People. “I’ve never had a healthy relationship with food, so that was the hard part. But once you get into that discipline and commitment, it’s like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.”

“Nobody in my house ever had [a healthy relationship with food], so that was the hard part, really fighting that demon at first and getting into that discipline and that commitment,” he adds.

His food addiction isn’t the only thing Jelly Roll is working on overcoming. He also recently announced he is taking an indefinite break from social media, to work on his mental health.

“For those of y’all that know me on this app, or have listened to me or my wife, y’all know I have a very unhealthy relationship with social media,” Jelly Roll shared, in a video he posted on social media. “I have a very unhealthy relationship with phones. So, I’m getting on here to tell y’all I’m taking a break. It’s been a crazy couple of years, and I love y’all so much. I’m throwing this phone out the window tonight. I’m gonna go phoneless for a few months. My friends from where I’m from are used to this. I’ve been doing this since I was a kid.

“But I love y’all, man,” he concluded. “I’m sure that I’ll still be posting. I’ll grab me a GoPro or something, and I’m sure you’ll see me on my wife’s stuff, but I love y’all, man. Thank y’all for making this the most incredible year I could’ve ever asked for.”
