Jelly Roll has big plans for 2025, even if he can’t share them quite yet. The 39-year-old, who is wrapping up his Beautifully Broken Tour later this month, reveals he will not tour next year, so he can pursue acting, something he first revealed he wanted to do in 2023.
“This is breaking news for Jelly Roll. I’m not going to headline a tour in America next year,” he announced on The Pat McAfee Show. “It’ll be my first year not headlining a tour in America since 2020, but before that, it was like 2012. It’s been a long time, so I think we’ve done enough this year. I’m going to do all those festivals next year, and I think I’m going to get into a little television, maybe.”
Jelly Roll doesn’t reveal what his plans for the small screen are, but he does verify that he already has some projects in the works.
“It’s real,” says the singer. “I got a couple of cookers in there, man.”

Jelly Roll might be working on his acting skills, but his music career is at an all-time high. The Nashville native just celebrated his sixth No. 1 single with “I Am Not Okay,” a song that is important to him because it talks about mental health. The song also received two recent Grammy Awards nominations, both for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song, bringing his career total of Grammy nominations to four.
Last year, Jelly Roll received his first two Grammy Awards nominations, for the all-genre Best New Artist, and for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, for his “Save Me” collaboration with Lainey Wilson.
“It’s the ultimate ultimate,” Jelly Roll said on Audacy’s Katie & Company. “When you get nominated for a Grammy, every other accolade you had takes a backseat to just the nomination. You know what I mean? Like, it’s crazy that I was, in this weird way, I was only the CMA New Artist for a day, because nobody can introduce me that way. Now I’ll forever be introduced to the Grammy-nominated Jelly Roll.”
Jelly Roll, who is also nominated for three CMA Awards this year, will be a thinner, more svelte version on TV than he would have been a year ago. The father of two has shed more than 100 pounds, and vows to lose even more as he becomes a healthier version of himself.
“Next year when you all see me, you won’t recognize me,” he vows. “I’m going to get under a pile of weights in a way that I never have.”
Earlier this year, Jelly Roll revealed he was focusing on his health this year, in a vulnerable post shared on social media.
“Part of this journey has really led me back to my childhood,” Jelly Roll writes. “I’m starting to feel a difference. Been back walking, soaking up sun, playing basketball. It’s deeper than just losing weight. I’m getting back in touch with myself in a way I haven’t in a long time. I feel less inflammation, I feel less pain, I have more clarity. I’m a little tired and sore but that’s a small price to pay. The transformation has begun.”
