It’s been a rough couple of days for Jimmie Allen. Over the weekend, Allen’s wife, Alexis, who is a nurse, revealed that both their 20-month-old daughter Naomi Bettie, and five-week-old Zara James, had been sick, which included a trip to the hospital via ambulance for Zara.
“Turned away by hospital yesterday AM Ambulance at 2 AM. Basically if your child isn’t blue at the lips they will not have answers for you. That’s been my last 24 hours,” she wrote, adding, “Not one doctor has taken the time to actually listen and make sure she’s really okay – 10 min in and [out]. What this nurse mama is seeing/hearing is so frightening,”
Apparently, Zara’s health continued to decline, with Allen sharing their frightening experience on social media.
“Attention Doctors, if the parent of your one month old patient tells you the child having a hard time breathing and the only thing your lazy self wants to do is check heart and temperature find another career. Your job is to save lives so do it,” Allen posted.
“Now thanks to the lazy doctors at a hospital in TN that just sent our daughter home, our daughter Zara lost color, stopped breathing and is being rushed to another hospital. Thanks to the amazing EMT team that brought back Zara’s color she can breathe again. Gonna be a rough night.”
Allen and Alexis welcomed Zara on October 16, making her a little sister to Naomi and Allen’s son, Aadyn, from an earlier relationship.

Allen and Alexis secretly got married in 2020, but waited until their elaborate wedding in 2021 to reveal they had already tied the knot.
“We were going to do it last year,” Allen told Everything Nash of their wedding. “The only reason that we didn’t do it last year, it wasn’t really for COVID, [but] we were nervous about COVID. It was more about a lot of people lost their jobs, and we didn’t want people to financially stress out over coming to our wedding. We didn’t want people to come to the wedding and then put themselves in a financial bind, and we didn’t want to have it, and the people that were going to come not be able to come because of financial restrictions.”
