Jon Pardi is going to be a father! The 37-year-old and his wife, Summer, will welcome their first child early next year. The couple, who wed in November of 2020, has not disclosed the gender of their first child, but they do say they are more than ready to become parents.
“I’m ready to start a new adventure with my wonderful wife Summer and our new little one — Pardi of three!” Pardi tells People. “I’m really excited to meet our baby and to have someone to ride around the ranch with.”
The couple hoped to expand their family soon after they tied the knot, but faced a series of disappointments before Summer says she took “100 of these tests with pink lines,” which confirmed she was pregnant.
“It was definitely an interesting two years of ups and downs — the constant letdown month after month can really be hard on a couple,” Summer concedes. “After years of no luck and meeting with doctors who just didn’t feel like the right fit, we decided to take a break, leave it in God’s hands and just enjoy each other and this crazy, fun life we live together … and then surprise, we’re pregnant!”
Jon, who is on his Ain’t Always the Cowboy Tour through October, already has a successful music career, but his wife has no doubt he will ace parenting as well.
“He’s such a big kid at heart, always the life of the party, and has such positive energy so I can only imagine how much fun this little Pardi addition will be for him and our family,” Summer says. “I know [being parents] is going to be the greatest gift in the world.”
The singer also announced the news on social media, along with photos of Summer’s baby bump.
Welllll, it happened. No plans, no timing, just a gift from god. Im ready for it!

Pardi’s latest album, Mr. Saturday Night, was released on September 2. The record includes his current single, “Your Heart or Mine,” as well as his recent No. 1 hit, “Last Night Lonely.”
“These are songs that I’ve had on hold for two years, that have been part of this project for a long time,” Pardi tells Billboard of the new record. “They stuck around and carved their names into this album and it wouldn’t sound the same without them. Everything fits, from the ones I’ve written, the ones I’ve recorded, they’re all based around me and in the long run, a lot of these songwriters know the sounds that I gravitate toward.”
