Jon Pardi Begins ‘Next Musical Chapter’ With ‘Friday Night Heartbreaker’ [LISTEN]

A new song is out from Jon Pardi! The California native just dropped “Friday Night Heartbreaker,” from a forthcoming new album.

“’Friday Night Heartbreaker’ kicks down the door of this next musical chapter,” Pardi hints. “I challenged myself to elevate in every aspect, and this is the tip of the spear for what’s to come. When I first heard the song, I knew instantly that I had to cut it… and what a journey it was recording alongside the professor, Jay Joyce. I’m as excited as I have ever been to share new music.”

“Friday Night Heartbreaker,” written by Josh Miller, Chris Tompkins, Jessie Jo Dillon, Daniel Ross and Ryan Hurd, resonated with Pardi because of the message, and also the sound of the song, which is a bit of a departure for him.

“’Friday Night Heartbreaker,’ the song is a very cool song,” Pardi tells his record label. “It’s something that caught my ear when I first heard it. I love the — I call it like the hot girl warning. The heartbreaker, the stay away from this girl, even though you’re probably gonna try to talk to her. It’s kind of a fun song. I feel like girls really like that kind of stuff. And it’s kind of spooky sounding, rock and roll country.”

The new song follows  “Cowboys And Plowboys,” a collaboration with Luke Bryan that was the first single from Pardi’s next project. With four albums to his credit already, the 39-year-old hints he is doing something new with his next set of tunes.

“I’m not going a different direction, but I’m going to do something fresh,” Pardi recently revealed on Audacy’s Totally Private. “I’m going to work with a guy that I’ve never got to work with, somebody I look up to in the producer world, Jay Joyce. He’s the guy that’s got something special, and us coming together with the right songs, I feel like is going to be real special. He’s excited, I’m excited.”

The new song comes as Pardi is kicking off the fall leg of his Mr. Saturday Night Tour, likely with a new crib on his bus. Pardi and his wife, Summer, just welcomed their second child, Sienna Grace Pardi, in July.

Pardi’s new song and fall tour arrive a little less than a year after he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry last October, by his own musical hero, Garth Brooks. Of all of that he has done, being part of the legacy of the Opry is one of his biggest accomplishments.

“The Opry, they’re only going to get bigger and bigger and bigger,” Pardi shared with Everything Nash and other outlets during a recent media event. “They’re doing a great job. They’re bringing in members that come earlier and just, they know what they’re doing more than ever now. I really feel like it. But regardless of that, it really felt like family when you become a member. It’s a home to country music. It’s a home, and it’s the backstage that’s the feeling. We love jamming there … It’s a wonderful thing.”
