Justin Moore and Priscilla Block Release ‘You, Me, and Whiskey’ [LISTEN]

A new collaboration between Justin Moore and Priscilla Block is out now. The two combined their talents on “You, Me, and Whiskey.” The song, written by Jessi Alexander, Brock Berryhill and Cole Taylor, is from Moore’s forthcoming new album, which also includes his recent No. 1 hit, “With a Woman You Love.”

“You read ‘You, Me, and Whiskey,’ and you think spring break, hookup, whatever, but for me, as a guy who’s been married for 15 years with four beautiful children, it’s about making time for your romantic relationship,” Moore explains. “Our children are priorities in our lives, but we also have to make ‘us’ a priority. That’s what the song represents to me but the best thing about country music is that it can mean many things to many different people.”

“Anyone can relate to it because it’s about taking time to work on the things you really need to as a person and in your relationships,” adds Block.

Moore previously teased his duet with Block, adding that there would also be another collaboration on his next set of tunes as well.

“So this particular album, it’s got two duets on it.,” Moore told Everything Nash. “One female, one male. I think it’s really good. It’s more of what we do. I mean, it’s not anything crazy for us. So for our fans out there, you’re gonna get what you expect from us. I kind of talked about it years ago. I did some things on albums, but the nucleus was always traditional country for us … It’s more traditional straight-ahead country, but I think it’s really clever writing. I think some of the ideas of some of the songs are maybe a little more clever than what we’ve done in the past.”

“You, Me, and Whiskey,” like “With a Woman You Love,” shows off the romantic side of Moore, one he is happy to embrace, at least now.

“Everybody’s going, ‘Oh, is this softer side of you or whatever,’” Moore told Everything Nash. “Early in our career, I think the first love song we put out was ‘Til My Last Day.’ And I remember kind of being a little anxious about putting it out, ’cause we hadn’t done that yet in our career. And I think it was off the second album we put out ‘Til My Last Day.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know if people want to hear this from me, or if it’s gonna work.’ And I don’t know that we’ve put a love song out that hasn’t gone No. 1 now.  So it’s been kind of fun to see people react to the different types of music we put out there, including love songs.”
