Kane Brown is breaking his own mold a bit with his next album. The 29-year-old is working on a new record, one he says will be markedly different from any of his previous three projects.
“I’m really excited,” Brown told Pure Country. “We usually have a huge variety. I usually have pop stuff on there, but so far, this album has just been pop country, and then we have some really traditional country songs. George Strait actually had one on hold that didn’t get cut, so I took it.”
The father of two just celebrated his tenth No. 1 hit at country radio, with “Bury Me In Georgia.” Brown wrote the song, from his 2022 Different Man record. with Josh Hoge, Matt McGinn and Jordan Schmidt.
“‘Bury Me In Georgia’ just a song, you know, about the home state that I grew up in,” Brown said when “Bury Me In Georgia” was released. “That’s where I want to go whenever it’s my time. Especially the Georgia Bulldogs, they on top of it right now about three-pea … Georgia is just, it’s always gonna place in my heart.”
“Bury Me In Georgia” follows Brown’s previous No. 1 hit, “Thank God,” a duet with his wife, Katelyn. The song is nominated for a CMA Award (for Musical Event of the Year).
“Kate’s always been an artist,” Brown told Everything Nash and other outlets during a recent media event. “And she stepped back and is doing the mom and wife thing. She’s kept holding our house together, and she sings all the time. She loves music. So just to get to do that with her, and get to live her dream with her, means the world to me.”
Brown wrapped up his successful Drunk or Dreaming Tour, but is already looking ahead to bigger tours, in much larger venues.
“We’re gonna start moving to stadiums, coming up,” Brown hinted. “Eventually, it would be sick to just be a stadium act … I wanna go the biggest production possible.”
Brown is back at radio with “Nothing Compares To You,” a duet with Mickey Guyton. The song was written by Tyler Hubbard, Bebe Rexha and Schmidt.
“This song said everything I needed to about my relationship with my husband and really spoke to me the moment I heard it,” Guyton said. “Having been a fan of Kane’s from the beginning, I felt this was the perfect song for us to do together. I’m so thankful Tyler, Bebe, and Jordan trusted us with this beautiful song!”
