Kane Brown will soon be a father of three, when his wife Katelyn gives birth to their third child, and first boy, later this year. Brown is also a proud dad to daughters Kingsley and Kodi, but is eager to soon add his first son to the mix.
“I’m excited — I mean, I’m nervous because it’s three babies, and I love my little girls. But I am really excited to have a son just ’cause I have all this stuff,” Brown tells Taste of Country Nights, adding that those items include a “basketball court, a racing simulator, golf simulator.”
Kingsley is three years old, while Kodi is two, but Brown says his daughters couldn’t be more different from each other, which is why he can’t wait to see how his son fits in the mix.
“My oldest is so girly,” says the singer. “I’m like, ‘Why do I have all this stuff if my kids ain’t gonna use it?’ … I think my middle child, Kodi, she’s gonna be a brut. And then I’m worried for my son, because I feel like she’s gonna pick on him.”
As for what vehicle Brown and Katelyn will use to transport their growing family, the 30-year-old says they are still undecided, although his wife already shot down his original idea of a minivan.
“I was gonna lower it, make it a really cool pimped out dad minivan,” Brown shares. “One like a Honda Odyssey — I thought that would be clean.”
Brown and Katelyn announced at Christmas that they were expecting their third child.
“Last Christmas as a family of 4,” Brown captioned a photo.

Brown currently has a Top 5 song with “I Can Feel It,” the debut single from his forthcoming new album.
“We started a new album and we didn’t know if we were going to bring another single from the last album, Different Man,” Brown previously told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. “And then we got ahold of this one. I was going to play Stagecoach, I was going to headline and we were looking for a legendary artist to come out with us. We were talking about Phil Collins, we’re talking about Cher, just random people that nobody would think about. And so we went into the writer’s room in Canada the next day and we had Phil Collins on our mind.”
As soon as Brown sat down to write “I Can Feel It,” he knew he had something special, and unlike anything he had ever released before.
“We started writing this song and it happens every time. I’ll live with a song for months, a year and then release it as a single,” Brown said. “But once Dann Huff got a hold of this, I told him, ‘I want it live. I want you to bring it alive as if I’m… think of me being on the road on tour. I want to be able to hear that when we’re listening to this song.’ And he just brought the magic.
“I fell in love with it,” he added. “I was thinking about opening the show with it, but then where do you go [from] there? The energy would be so high.”
Brown will receive the CRS Artist Humanitarian Award, at a special ceremony on February 29. The award is being given to Brown in honor of his “unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts, particularly in his dedication to serving underprivileged youth,” per a press release.
Brown will kick off his In The Air Tour on March 28, joined by Chris Young, Tyler Hubbard, Cole Swindell, Jon Pardi and Bailey Zimmerman, Parmalee, LOCASH and RaeLynn. Find music and tour dates at KaneBrownMusic.com.
