Kane Brown is nominated for five trophies at the upcoming ACM Awards, including three for “Thank God,” his duet with his wife, Katelyn Brown. The couple, who married in 2018, received nominations for Single of the Year, Music Event of the Year and Video of the Year for their romantic duet.
The nominations come after the Browns won the CMT Music Award for Video of the Year, also for “Thank God.”. While Brown is grateful for the nominations with his wife, it means even more to him since they get to share the experience together.
“Kate’s always been an artist,” Brown told Everything Nash and other outlets during a recent media event. “And she stepped back and is doing the mom and wife thing. She’s kept holding our house together, and she sings all the time. She loves music. So just to get to do that with her, and get to live her dream with her, means the world to me. Just to see how excited she is to be on stage. She’s a nervous wreck when it comes to any awards shows, so it will be fun just sitting there beside her.”

Brown might be the better-known singer, at least so far, but the 29-year-old is proud of Katelyn and how well she pulled off her part on “Thank God.”
“Kate loves R&B, and pop and big singers like Whitney Houston and all that,” Brown boasted. “Her voice just naturally leads there. … The song to me is really well written and written for any format that you want to put it out. Plus, it’s actually two people that really love each other singing that type of song. I think it just meshes well and everybody can relate to it.”
Brown is also nominated for Male Artist of the Year and the night’s highest honor, Entertainer of the Year.
“Me and my team have been working so hard for the longest time,” Brown said of the nominations. “And we’re just so excited to be nominated, especially for Entertainer of the Year. I got really excited when I heard about that — super excited that Kate got nominated as well. It’s just going to be a fun time. I can’t wait to share it with her.”
“Thank God” is Brown’s ninth No. 1 hit. The song is from his 2022 Different Man album. Brown shares the Entertainer of the Year category with Jason Aldean, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Morgan Wallen.
Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton will host the ACM Awards ceremony. The 2023 ACM Awards will take place on Thursday, May 11 at 8:00 PM ET, streaming live on Amazon Prime Video, from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Tckets are available at SeatGeek.com.
