Kane Brown Recorded Several Songs With His Wife, Katelyn

Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn, had a No. 1 hit with “Thank God,” released in 2022. The song is, fortunately, one of several collaborations the couple has recorded together in recent years, although the 30-year-old admits he doesn’t know when the new tunes will be released.

“We just recorded two [new songs] in the studio… and we have five total,” Brown reveals on Apple Music’s Today’s Country Radio. “But she’s pregnant right now, so we can’t do music videos, so we just got it on pause.”

Brown, who hints his wife is close to the due date of welcoming their third child, says Katelyn much prefers recording the songs than actually performing them live.

“She doesn’t like the stage… She likes the studio,” Brown says. “So, she’s always said, ‘Could we put an album out?’ I’m like, ‘You can put an album out, babe, but you’re going to have to tour it.’ She’s like, ‘I don’t want to tour it.’ I’m like, ‘Well, people are going to listen to it and they’re going to love it, and they’re going to want to see you and they’re going to want to see it live.’ So, then she gets freaked out about that.”

For now, Katelyn will have her hands full, especially when they welcome their son into the world, who will join big sisters Kingsley and Kodi at home. Brown admits he is excited, and nervous, to add a son to the mix, especially after having two girls.

“I’m just excited to have a boy to play with,” Brown says, adding that he is nervous especially because Kodi tends to not be as gentle as her big sister.

“She’s pretty rough, so I’m nervous for him,” Brown admits. “I’m nervous for him, but hopefully she toughens him up… I’m hoping he plays baseball or something. All my friends back home, they are all their coaches of the baseball team and we all grew up together playing baseball. So, I would love to be able to coach a baseball team and my son be on it.”

2024 could be a big year for Brown. In addition to new music and a new baby boy, the 30-year-old is  nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the upcoming ACM Awards. Brown shares the category with Luke Combs,  Jelly RollCody JohnsonChris StapletonMorgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson, artists he says are much more deserving than he is to take home the night’s highest honor.

“I’m a person that looks at everything, so when it’s Entertainer of the Year, of course, it’s amazing to be up there, but I’m the type of person that if I won, I feel like I don’t deserve it right now,” Brown admits to Country Now. “I mean Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen are killing it. Then I saw Chris Stapleton on the list. Chris has such a good voice and I didn’t realize he was playing stadiums too … Just entertaining-wise, I’d put myself up there, but to win it, I wouldn’t think I would feel deserving.”

The 2024 ACM Awards will air live on Thursday, May 16, from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The ceremony will stream live exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Tickets for the general public are available now, via SeatGeek. More information is available at ACMCountry.com.
