Keith Urban Announces Return to Las Vegas With ‘HIGH’ 10-Show Residency

Keith Urban is returning to Las Vegas. The country music hitmaker announces a 10-show residency, HIGH in Vegas, held at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a new high-end resort and casino. The residency will kick off on October 4 with five shows, with five more shows slated in February, beginning on February 14.

Urban announced the good news on social media.

This isn’t Urban’s first time playing in Las Vegas. He previously had his Keith Urban: The Las Vegas Residency, which he extended due to fan demand. By his own admission, he had no idea how much he would enjoy a Vegas residency.

“I resisted a residency in Vegas for a few years. We got asked to come there quite a few years ago,” Urban told Billboard. “I just didn’t think I would like it because in my head, it just seemed like the word residency just felt like, ‘Oh, you just doing the same show in the same place night after night after night,’ and that just sounded like an episode of Severance to me. But when we saw the Colosseum, I was ‘Oh my God, I think we’ll have a blast in here.’ I was surprised how much I loved it.”

The father of two has already released “Straight Line,” his current single, “Messed Up As Me” and “Go Home W U,” his duet with Lainey Wilson, from his next record. Urban admitted he was anticipating his live shows, which will hopefully also include a tour, when he was creating his new project.

“I have a lot of hope,” Urban told People. “And I think my calling has always been inclusivity in what I do. It’s certainly always been that way playing live in concert. My calling is to bring all these different kinds of people together and become one for a couple of hours. And it’s an amazing thing as a musician to be able to get to do that because even a sporting event splits the audience in two.

“But as musicians,” he added, “we get to bring the most opposing kinds of people together who maybe only agree on this one thing, which is these songs in this moment.”

It’s unclear when Urban’s new album will be available, but he does say it will happen at some point in 2024.

“We’ll keep working our way towards a release date later this year, but I’m psyched to get it out,” Urban said. “It’s been a very unique journey putting all these songs together and shaping the record. And in a lot of ways, the record shaped itself. It had an energy and momentum of its own that I just started following. And I can’t put that into any other way, but that’s kind of what happened is that it felt like the record told me where to go and how to make it. It’s wild.”

The New Zealand native admitted that he finished the record, and then scrapped most of it and started over, when he realized it wasn’t the record he wanted to make.

“It started off as a different record,’ Urban recalled. “I saved four songs from that first album, and moved them over to this one, because I just knew it wasn’t the right record. And then, these songs kind of taught me what the other songs should be, and then it just flowed. It flowed so easily and so right.”

Tickets for the general public for HIGH in Vegas will be available beginning on Friday, May 10, with various pre-sale options available as well. Find more information, and all of Urban’s music and upcoming shows at  KeithUrban.com.
