New music is coming from Kelsea Ballerini, and two of her talented friends, Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson! The “half of my hometown” singer announced that “You’re Drunk, Go Home,” from her forthcoming Subject to Change album will be out on September 23, the same day her new record will be released.
Ballerini announced the news in a video on social media, featuring both Pearce and Clarkson.
“So y’all have been asking, for months now, if there’s a collab on the album, and I’ve hinted that there is, and I did post a little sneaky picture,” Ballerini said. “And you guys are spies, and you did guess that it is indeed my girl, Carly Pearce. But but but, friends, I did fool you, because it is not just Carly Pearce. We have a trio …it’s Kelly freakin’ Clarkson.”
Clarkson then appears in the video with Ballerini, announcing the song, “You’re Drunk, Go Home.”

Ballerini previously said Subject to Change, her fourth studio album, was a reflection of the own changes that have happened in her life, especially in the seven years since her freshman The First Time record was released.
“In my younger years, the idea of change scared me,” Ballerini said. “It had proven to be a faceless force that patterned my past with uncertainty. Ultimately in the gift of growth have I learned that in the stark and constant juxtaposition of life, living happens. That when I unclench my fists, undig my heels, and unravel the architecture built by youth, a true metamorphosis can happen.
“I’ve been searching somewhere between the broadness of the universe and the simplicity in the little things, reflecting through wiser perspectives, leaning with bodyweight into matters of the heart, and finding blissful acceptance in the inner cracks I once cursed, that now let the light in to grow taller within myself,” she continued. “This is a season of becoming, healing, loving, dancing and feeling. And like everything, it is subject to change.”
Unfortunately for Ballerini, the season of change also includes a split from her husband, Morgan Evans, after five years of marriage.
“Friends, I’ve always tried my best to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold,” Ballerini writes. “This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce. This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end. It’s hard to find the words here…but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons.
“With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing, and showing up the best we can,” she adds.
“Heartfirst,” Ballerini’s debut single from Subject to Change, is in the Top 5. Find music and tour dates at KelseaBallerini.com.
