Kenny Chesney is giving fans a sneak peek of his upcoming Live at Sphere Las Vegas Residency. The Tennessee native traveled to see his stage being built, only a few weeks before his opening show.
“I’m here in Burbank, California, working on all of the content for Sphere,” Chesney says in a video shared on social media. “It’s my first time seeing a lot of it. Next month we start in Las Vegas, and I can’t wait for everybody to see what we’re working on. It is just blowing my mind. This is going to be so much fun.”
Chesney captions the video by saying, “Next month we begin our shows at Sphere in Las Vegas. It’s going to be such a shared moment for all of us. I’m glad we are doing it. Just To Say We Did.”
The final sentence is in reference to Chesney’s current single, which is from his latest BORN album.

Chesney admits that he had no idea when he agreed to do a Las Vegas Residency, what all that would entail.
“We didn’t know when we signed on what we were signing up for,” Chesney acknowledges. “I realized every bit of video was going to have to be shot for this wraparound-the-audience screen, but I had no idea how much creating these moments – because it’s so much more than content – would open up my own creative portals.
“We have to go to California to create the final edit, so we can understand the fullness of how people will experience the visuals, how it will marry to the music,” he adds. “But just the songs we saw earlier in the year, putting the show together is going to be a complete rush.”
Not surprisingly, Chesney has kept his fans foremost in his mind when creating every aspect of Live at Sphere, including adding a Sandbar similar to his concerts, plus the addition of Guitars, Tiki Bars and a Whole Lotta Love. The two-story space at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, which is the only hotel connected to The Sphere. Guitars, Tiki Bars, and a Whole Lotta Love will feature pictures, passes, license plates, handwritten lyrics, instruments and more, all from Chesney’s more than two decades of selling out stadiums on his tours.
“You can’t know going into something like this what you are going to experience,” Chesney says. “But you open your arms to all of it, fall into the possibilities and learn a lot about not just the technology, but what else the music is made of. Embrace it all, because it’s awesome.”
Much of Chesney’s Las Vegas Residency is in many ways a love letter for his fans, who have been filling stadiums to see him perform for 20 years.
“A lot has happened,” Chesney says of his plans for Live at Sphere Las Vegas. “When you start creating something like this, you really step back and think about it. And these crazy summers tours, the fun and music made, wouldn’t have happened without No Shoes Nation, so I wanted to pull back the curtain and let them see at least a piece of it.”
Chesney’s Live at Sphere opens on May 22. He has plenty to look forward to in 2025 besides his Vegas shows, including becoming an official member of the Country Music Hall of Fame this fall.
“That’s just something you don’t dare to imagine,” he says. “I would never have even thought about being here, because it’s almost too much. Just walking past so many of these bronzes, realizing how many are friends or whose music I’ve listened to my whole life. This is an honor that extends beyond anything my heart would dare think.”
