Kenny Chesney Opens Up About Not Being Able to Tour: ‘We Feel a Little Lost’

If there is one thing Kenny Chesney likes to do, it’s perform in front of his millions of fans. The country music superstar was forced to postpone his Chillaxification Tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, and while he knows it was a necessary decision, that doesn’t mean it is easy for him.

“I truly do miss [touring],” Kenny admitted to Kix Brooks on American Country Countdown (via Nash Country Daily). “You know, this is the time of year where we’re all real busy, and there’s a great new energy of starting another tour, and going down the highway with all of your road family, and seeing your fans that care about this music. Right now, we’ve been forced to not do that, and it feels strange.

“I think the fans — and I think I speak for my whole road family when I say, ‘We feel a little lost,'” he continued. “We’re cautiously optimistic . . . but, I’m not gonna lie to you, we all feel a little strange and a little lost because this is the time of year where we get to celebrate music and celebrate our love for one another, and that’s how we look at it, and we don’t get to do that right now.”

Kenny honored his friends in the video he just released for “We Do,” from his latest Here and Now album.

“I always say, ‘If people could see what we see from that stage, from the golf carts swooping through the parking lots, the top of the stadiums and everywhere else, they’d know why No Shoes Nation is the greatest group of passionate, loud, awesome people in the world!’” Kenny said in a statement. “And if a picture is worth a thousand words, then here’s a billion of ‘em in this video, set to a song written from me to them. No holding back, just full on here it comes.”

Currently, Kenny is hoping to begin his Chillaxification Tour, which includes Florida Georgia Line and Old Dominion as his opening acts, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 30. Keep track of tour updates at KennyChesney.com.
