Lady Antebellum has a new song at radio! The trio, made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, just announced “Champagne Night” as their next single. The song was co-written by Lady Antebellum, along with the recent winner of Songland, Madeline Merlo, as well as the show’s mentor, hit songwriter Shane McAnally.
“We had a blast bringing this song to life for our episode,” Hillary said in a statement. “We started the process of the song over the winter in a very different time and headspace. But now, with everything going on, it’s almost like that little dose of exactly what I need right now –– a light and fun little reminder to enjoy the simpler moments.”
Lady Antebellum posted a video on social media of them sharing the surprising good news with Madeline.

“We wanted to make sure to chat with you, before you heard it anywhere else, to let you know that today at 2:00 PM, ‘Champagne Night’ is going to country radio,” Hillary told Madeline in a video call between all five songwriters.
“The response has been so overwhelming,” Charles continued. “When our team looks at all the numbers and the press and the people and the comments, it’s been so overwhelming. It was showing us to pivot right there, so we’re putting it out.”
Madeline was understandably excited, and for a moment, speechless, as she took in the good news.
“I never expected to make it on the show. And then to get paired with Shane, who’s my favorite songwriter. And then to have you guys, and then to win –– it’s so crazy.”
Lady Antebellum’s previous single, “What I’m Leaving For,” is from their latest Ocean album. The group was forced to postpone their Ocean 2020 Tour, due to coronavirus. They are currently scheduled to hit the road on July 2. Find tour dates, and download “Champagne Night” at LadyAntebellum.com.
