Lady A‘s Charles Kelley is going to be a dad, again! The singer-songwriter reveals on social media that his wife, Cassie, is pregnant. The new baby will join big brother, Ward, who turned nine in February.
“Biggest surprise of our lives!” Kelley captions the photos. “Baby Kelley coming early fall 2025. Big brother is the MOST excited.”

The new arrival is an especially big surprise for Cassie, who was open about her fertility struggles before the she became a mother.
“Many months went by with negative pregnancy tests and a lot of shared frustration … We went through several years of trying before finally seeing our fertility doctor in Nashville this past November,” Cassie said at the time (via People).
“When all was said and done, our doctor informed us that we had about a one percent chance of conceiving a child naturally. Yeah. One percent.”
“We never stopped hoping though … We made a plan to regroup this fall and explore other options to expand our family,” she continued. “Then it happened. I woke up one morning in June and there it was, a positive pregnancy test. I was in shock. Happy shock, but shock.”
The news comes as Kelley is enjoying a new, sober life. In 2022, Kelley quit drinking, entering rehab to overcome his addiction to alcohol. It was his wife who convinced him that he needed to get help with his alcoholism, after a trip to Greece went awry.
“We got in an argument, and I just turned my phone off, in the middle of nowhere, and just took off, and stayed up drinking with all these random people I didn’t know,” Kelley recalls to CBS This Morning. “I literally woke up at 7:00 and called her.”
“We had gotten in an argument, and we had one of those moments where I just was like, ‘I’m so sick of being told what to do,’” he adds. “And I turned off my phone and I didn’t realize I had eight of my friends looking for me all night.”
Painful as it was, Cassie — who had stayed up all night worried about her husband — gave Kelley an ultimatum.
“The next morning, I said, ‘You need help. You have to deal with this,’” Cassie remembers. “And he said he knew, and he made a plan with his manager, and he flew directly from Greece to treatment. But at that point, I thought I was fully flying back to the US, and I was going to meet with a divorce attorney. That was it.”
Kelley isn’t the only Lady A member adding to their family. In February, Hillary Scott also announced she was pregnant, expecting her fourth child.
