Lainey Wilson Announces New ‘Whirlwind’ Album

A new album is coming from Lainey Wilson. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year announces the release of Whirlwind, her third studio record, out on August 23.

“I am so excited to finally announce Whirlwind,” Wilson says. “This album has been a long time coming, and I can’t wait for the world to have this body of work in their hands soon. This new chapter of music is the most cathartic and personal piece of art I’ve ever made. I hope this record brings some peace to your whirlwind and wraps its arms around you like it did for me.”

The news comes as Wilson is celebrating her seventh consecutive No. 1 single, with “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” the final release from her sophomore Bell Bottom Country project.

“It’s such an honor to have ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’ No.1 at country radio,” Wilson says. “This song has such a special place in my heart, as a fifth-generation farmer’s daughter and someone who grew up on wide open land.

“Thank you to my collaborators, Jay Joyce, Trannie Anderson, and Paul Sikes for helping bring this track to life,” she continues. “And to my fans, my wild horses, this is your theme song; none of this would be possible without you.”

Wilson also just announced the launch of her own Bell Bottoms Up Bar in Nashville, slated to open this summer. The 27,000-square-foot space is located at 120 Third Avenue South, in the space that was formerly the FGL House, owned by  Florida Georgia Line.

“I’m so excited to announce Bell Bottoms Up, which will be opening later this summer,” Wilson says. “I’ve always wanted to create a destination for all my fans to visit and create new memories at, in the heart of country music city. So, to have a permanent destination in Nashville, is such a dream come true. I can’t wait for all my Wild Horses to get to experience my home away from home.”

The Louisiana native vows to have plenty of Cajun food at Bell Bottoms Up Bar, which will also boast two stages and four bars, plus a mezzanine floor with a lounge bar that overlooks the first-floor stage and dining area, and a rooftop level with a ’70s western theme that includes a dance floor, disco-inspired decor and frozen drinks. A basement level, which will open later in the summer, will also include craft cocktails, immersive decor and live music.

Wilson has yet to announce a new single. She currently joins Keith Urban on his new song, “Go Home W U.”

Wilson is nominated for five ACM Awards, including Entertainer of the Year. The singer-songwriter will also perform during the live broadcast. The ACM Awards will air live on Thursday, May 16, from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The ceremony will stream live exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. A limited number of tickets remain to attend the ceremony in person. More information is available at ACMCountry.com.

Wilson will spend part of the year headlining her own Country’s Cool Again Tour. Find “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” and all of Wilson’s music and upcoming shows at LaineyWilson.com.
