New music is coming from Lainey Wilson! The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year will release “Country’s Cool Again,” which is also the title of her upcoming tour, on February 16.
“I’m so excited to announce my brand-new song, ‘Country’s Cool Again,'” Wilsons says. “This past year has been a wild ride and truly shown me that country music is really loving me back. This track is an ode to my upbringing and the story of my journey in this industry – where I have been and where I am now. I’m feeling all the love from country music fans, and I can’t wait to hear everyone singing this song back to me while we’re out on the road this year.”
Wilson debuted the song while performing at Red Rocks last fall.
“This song right here is one that I’m definitely going to record at some point and time, but I wanted to play it for you all. Nobody’s ever heard it.” Wilson said from stage.
The 31-year-old also spoke out about “Country’s Cool Again” on social media.
“Country isn’t just a genre for any of us that live & breathe it every day,” Wilson posted. “It’s a way of life. It’s always been cool & I think I speak for everyone when I say, we’re just glad it’s gettin’ a [little] more love these days.”

Wilson just won her first-ever Grammy Award, for Best Country Album for Bell Bottom Country. The record was released in 2022.
“It has truly changed my life,” Wilson said the Grammy Awards stage when accepting the trophy. “I am from a farming community in northeast Louisiana, a little town of 200 people, and I’m a fifth-generation farmer’s daughter. I would consider myself a farmer too, and everybody that I surround myself with, I think they’re farmers too, but they’re story farmers. And it’s about getting up every single day, and planting those seeds and watering them, and watching them grow.
“And sometimes when you find the right farming community, you can have the harvest of a lifetime, and I truly believe that, and I think that’s exactly what this is tonight,” she continued. “God bless every single one of you. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you so much to the Recording Academy, and thank you so much to my fans. I love you all so much.”
Wilson is currently enjoying a Top 20 hit with “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” also from Bell Bottom Country.
“I come from a long line of hardheaded tough people and people who have kind of blazed their own trails,” Wilson said of the inspiration behind the song, speaking at a recent media event. “I’m from five generations of farmers in northeast Louisiana, and I always compare farming to the music business. I mean, you get up every day, do the same thing, you have good years, you have bad years, but you just keep on blazing that trail.”
Wison will headline both her international Lainey Wilson: LIVE Tour, and her Country’s Cool Again Tour in 2024. She will also perform at RodeoHouston for the first time.
