Wilson will enjoy several months at home before resuming her Whirlwind World Tour stateside on August 14 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Grand Ole Opry member previously hinted that she wanted to get bored, after spending more than a decade without taking much of a break. The time at home is thanks to advice she received from her hero and mentor, Miranda Lambert.

“She was like, ‘It’s so important for me to get out there and scoop the poop and throw the hay and catch the horses. Those are the things that remind you what’s really important,’” Wilson tells NME.

“I need to get bored …I’m looking forward to sitting around a bonfire at night and waking up late and sitting on the porch with my dog,”  she adds. “I’ve been touring solid since I was in eighth grade.”

Wilson will also be planning a wedding. She recently got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Devlin “Duck” Hodges. They quietly began dating in 2021, although she didn’t go public with their relationship for two years.

“I said, ‘We gonna see if you’re in it for the right reasons.’ Turns out, he is,” Wilson tells People. “Somebody said how funny it was watching him high-five all of my artist friends at the ACMs, and I said, ‘Those are his friends!’”

Hodges also prompted Wilson to write love songs, including her recent No. 1 hit, “4X4XU.” The song is from her latest Whirlwind album, and became her eighth No. 1 hit.

“The truth is, I write what I know, and I finally found a man worth writing about,” Wilson said (via American Songwriter). “So you know it’s a love song because y’all probably thought, ‘Dang, she ain’t got it in her… but I do. I got me a cheerleader.’”

Wilson’s 2025 tour comes after an unforgettable 2024, which included hit singles, more awards and a new level of superstardom in country music.

“I’m not going to lie, the recognition is great,” Wilson tells People. “It gives me that little extra notch in my belt and encouragement to keep on going and doing what I’m doing.”

ERNEST, Muscadine Bloodline, Kaitlin Butts, Maddox Batson and Zach Meadows will also join Wilson on the road later this year.  Find all of Wilson’s music and upcoming shows at LaineyWilson.com.
