Lauren Alaina is a married woman! The American Idol alum married her longtime boyfriend, Cam Arnold, on Sunday, February 4.
The couple tied the knot at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, a dream venue for Alaina.
“The Symphony Center is such an iconic place, and when I walked in and looked at it, I just knew that’s where I wanted to get married,” Alaina told People, explaining the reason for the atypical venue.
The couple had an impressive guest list that included Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, Lindsay Ell, HARDY and his wife, Caleigh, Dan + Shay‘s Shay Mooney and more.
“Here’s the funny thing: I wanted a small wedding and Cameron wanted a big wedding. So we compromised — and had a 450-person guest list,” the singer said. “I think it’s just a reflection of how fortunate we are — we have a lot of people who love us and we love a lot of people.”
Both Alaina and Arnold made sure their wedding was a family affair, including their attendants.
“Our siblings all stood up there with us as we got married. And Cameron’s dad was his best man, which was super sweet,” Alaina reveals. “It was a very emotional, very heartfelt ceremony.”
The couple chose an eclectic menu of various international dishes, including American, Mexican, Greek and Asian.
“We didn’t do a seated dinner. I couldn’t even imagine assigning seats for 450 people,” Alaina explained.
Alaina, who announced her engagement to Arnold on the Grand Ole Opry stage, said she feels most fortunate that her future, the good and the bad, includes Arnold in it.
“I’m excited to have someone to celebrate everything with. To have a definite first call, always,” she says. “And just a partnership that is so much stronger than any other partnership you have. It’s exciting to know you have someone to celebrate everything with and to share hardships with, to have someone that will walk through life with you, good and bad.”
Alaina has a lot of musical ambitions and career goals she wants to accomplish in the next few years, but eventually, the Georgia native hopes to add children to their family.
“We’re going to spend a few years being married, then hopefully down the line a few years we’ll have our kids,” Alaina hints. “We’ll keep growing together.”
