Lonestar is back with new music, or at least reimagined versions of their biggest hits. The iconic country music group just dropped “Amazed,” Lonestar’s chart-topping hit, first released in 1999. The song is from their forthcoming Ten To 1 album, out on June 2, which will feature ten of their No. 1 hits.
The group, now with Drew Womack as the lead singer instead of Richie McDonald, did new versions of some of the songs, but left two of them, both “Amazed” and “I’m Already There,” the same.
“We didn’t want to mess with ‘Amazed’ and ‘I’m Already There,’” guitarist Michael Britt says. “Those songs belong to the fans, and we can’t change those because they’ve heard those songs so many times. They’ve been a part of people’s lives in weddings and things like that, so we didn’t want to change those. Drew made this comment to me, ‘They’re not our songs anymore. They are our fans’ songs,’ and he’s right.”
It was that thought that became the inspiration for Ten To 1, celebrating their career that has spanned three decades.
“We’ve been doing this for a very long time, and we’ve been super blessed in our 30-plus years together to have 22 Top 10 singles and then have ten of those go No.1,” keyboardist Dean Sams explains. “We’ve adapted our sound so much over the years through playing live, we’ve started approaching songs a little bit differently and so we just thought we should put a version of who we are today out there with all ten of our number ones.”
“Most of these songs we’ve played for 25 years or so, and we know these songs like the back of our hand,” adds Britt. “It was fun to be able to record songs that everybody knows and just put a different spin on them because we’ve changed them over time.”
In celebration of Ten To 1, Lonestar will perform at the Ryman Auditorium on Friday, March 3.

“This Friday night, we’re playing the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville,” Keech Rainwater shares. “We have been looking forward to this for so long. For so many years, we’ve been playing the Opry, and just doing a couple of songs. This time we get to do our full set, all of our No. 1 songs. It’s going to be great.”
“It’s gonna be a great night of music,” Sams adds in a separate video. “We’re gonna be headlining the Ryman Auditorium for the first time in our 30-year career. I can’t believe it’s only the first time we’ve done it. But I”m so excited to be on this amazing stage. You’re gonna hear all ten of our No. 1 songs that we’ve had over the years in this show. It’s the first time we’ve done that in our career, is have all ten of those in our show. And also, you’re gonna hear a bunch of other big hits that we’ve had over the years, so it’s gonna be a great night of music.”
