The 5th Annual Daryle Singletary Keeping It Country Jam just added a lot more star power. Lorrie Morgan, Rhonda Vincent, Mark Collie, and Highway 101’s Paulette Carlson have been added to the lineup, which already includes Easton Corbin, Mark Wills, Rhett Akins, Chad Brock and Andy Griggs. The event will be held on Thursday, February 16, at the Nashville Palace.
“This year is building up to be something so special,” says Holly Singletary, Daryle’s widow. “The artist lineup includes so many of Daryle’s friends and for the first time, we have sold out the reserved seats and VIP tables in advance. This is a true testament that people want to hear good traditional country music, something that Daryle was so passionate about.”
Singletary was 46 years old when he passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2018. For a lot of artists, including Corbin, the Daryle Singletary Keeping It Country Jam is a way to honor their friend.
“I love Daryle Singletary,” Corbin tells Everything Nash. “He’s one of my good friends. It was just heartbreaking when he passed, just too early. We always played [National Finals Rodeo] together out there, with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. And I always looked forward to that show, not only ’cause it was Vegas — we have a good time — but I got to hang out with Daryle. I was just always a huge fan of his music and his voice. He was a singer’s singer for sure.”
Outdoorsman Michael Waddell will also be in attendance, to receive the Daryle Singletary Keeping It Country Award. In addition, a silent auction will be held, with items such as a Charlie Daniels Flag Fiddle Package, a Daryle Singletary Custom Wrapped Guitar, a grill signed by Kid Rock, a boxing glove signed by Mike Tyson and more. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Daryle Singletary Memorial Trust Fund.
