Luke Bryan Celebrates Halloween Because of His Wife, Caroline

Halloween is a big deal in Luke Bryan‘s family. The father of two has been known to dress in outlandish outfits with his wife, Caroline, although he admits he has no say in whatever costume he wears for the spooky holiday.

“My tradition for Halloween is Caroline picks the outfit,” Bryan tells his record label. “I never know what I’m wearing. So that day, I’ll talk to the neighbors ‘cause I have a tractor back there and I’ll go get my tractor and get a big long trailer, and then I’ll run down to — a couple miles from the farm, we’ve got a big hay farmer that keeps hay and you run in there and pay him for his hay bales. And I’ll load the hay up and get the hayride ready and we’ll take all the kids behind the tractor and have a fun Halloween with all that.”

He may not have much of a say in what he wears for Halloween, but among the many costumes he has worn, there is a clear favorite, at least in his mind.

“Me and Caroline did one year where I dressed up as the old lady, and she dressed up as, she called herself a dirty old man,” Bryan remembers. “So, she went around acting like an old man saying snide comments to everybody. That was a fun one. The main thing is Caroline is a big — she loves Halloween and always has.”

In addition to getting ready for Halloween, Bryan has something else to look forward to: watching his new single climb the charts. The 48-year-old just released “Country Song Came On,” from his latest  Mind of a Country Boy album, out now.

“’Country Song Came On’ is like a honky tonk gem for me,” Bryan says of the uptempo track. “When I heard it, I was like, it brings me back to the days when I was playing a lot of honky tonks early in my career. And the fact that I was able to put ETC, which is a nod to Earl Thomas Conley, one of my favorite artists ever, just makes me smile every time I hear it. And this song will definitely make you want to drink a draft beer.”

“Country Song Came On” will likely be another chart-topping hit for Bryan, who recently celebrated his 31st No. 1 single, with “Love You, Miss You, Mean It,” and hints there are still more songs he wants to release from his latest record.

“I’ve been able to take my time and really compile songs for this album,” Bryan says. “If it’s a song that I cut two or three years ago, and I still love it, and it still sounds fresh, then I feel like it’ll stand the test of time … I think this album, as I’ve tried to do with all my albums, just has a little bit of everything.

“I do some things different vocally on this one that I’ve not done before,” he continues. “It’s about each song having its place and having its meaning. It’s trying not to be overly redundant with songs. I think that’s why I’ve been blessed to have a long career and what I feel like this album’s going to do.”

Bryan will serve as a host of the 2024 CMA Awards, along with Lainey Wilson and Peyton Manning . Find all of Bryan’s music and upcoming shows at LukeBryan.com
