Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline, have been married for almost 14 years. The couple, who is also proud parents to 12-year-old son, Bo, and 10-year-old son, Tate, remains committed to giving their children a healthy view of life and marriage, struggles and all.
“I want to be inspiring for them,” Luke shared on Sadie Robertson’s Whoa That’s Good podcast. “I want, first and foremost, for them to know that I’m a Christian, and I want them to see some of that. Now do I do the perfect walk with that every day? Certainly not, but even just questions as they get older about Christianity and spirituality, stuff like that, being able to have the right answers. And then, I want them to be to see that me and Caroline are very much in love, have fun with each other. I want them to know that mom and dad enjoy each other and have fun.
“We’re not those parents that if we have a big argument, we don’t go hide and have the argument. We lay it all out there right in front of them,” he continued. “They gotta learn, they gotta watch mom and dad go through life and deal with life’s little challenges. But those are big things. And then, I want them to hopefully watch me be the best gentleman that I can, be the best role model and inspiration. I want them to see me hustling, getting up, working, and love on them every chance I can.”
Luke relies heavily on the lessons he learned from his own father, especially in his career.
“A piece of advice that has always stuck with me is my dad when I was a little boy he always said ‘Do it right the first time and you will have not to go back and do it over again,'” Luke recounted. “Have I completely lived by that? You know, not always. Sometimes as you’re navigating life and going through life you don’t necessarily get a 10 out of 10 but it’s something that always stuck with me that my dad said. That’s been a major one … My dad’s advice was really, really big for me.”
Luke just released his new album, Born Here, Live Here, Die Here. The record already has three No. 1 hits, including his recent single, “One Margarita.” Purchase, download or stream the album at LukeBryan.com.
