Luke Bryan Inducted Into RODEOHOUSTON Star Trail of Fame

Luke Bryan has a permanent spot at RODEOHOUSTON. The singer was inducted into the Star Trail of Fame, on Sunday, March 23, at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where Bryan also performed for the final night of the event.

“Luke Bryan has consistently been one of the most desired performers at RODEOHOUSTON and his influence on our organization and our attendees is immeasurable,” President and CEO Chris Boleman says. “Bryan is a reflection of all the best of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and we are proud to induct him into the Star Trail of Fame.”

Bryan received the 11th star on the Star Trail of Fame. He is joined by Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Charley Pride, Elvis Presley, Gene Autry, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Roy Rogers and Selena.

“What an honor it has been for me to perform at RODEOHOUSTON for so many years,”  Bryan, who has performed at RODEOHOUSTON a total of 12 times, says. “The dedication the Rodeo has on Texas students and the community is something I am so proud to have contributed to.”

Bryan is back at radio with another hit, “Country Song Came On.” The song is from Bryan’s latest Mind of a Country Boy album.

“’Country Song Came On’ is like a honky tonk gem for me,” Bryan says of the uptempo track. “When I heard it, I was like, it brings me back to the days when I was playing a lot of honky tonks early in my career. And the fact that I was able to put ETC, which is a nod to Earl Thomas Conley, one of my favorite artists ever, just makes me smile every time I hear it. And this song will definitely make you want to drink a draft beer.”

The father of two recently celebrated his 31st No. 1 single, with “Love You, Miss You, Mean It.”

“When I heard the song, it just kind of made me think about my marriage and my relationship with my wife,” Bryan tells his record label. “We kind of dated in college, took some time off and then we finally got back together. So this song tells the story of young love taking a little break and then circling back around and making it happen.”

Bryan has had far more No. 1 singles than most, but he admits the idea of so many is a bit overwhelming to him.

“I’ve tried to approach my career and the business to never take a day for granted,” Bryan tells CMT. “Never take a hit song for granted. So … 31 is really hard for me wrap my brain around. It’s a testament to the fans supporting me throughout the years. Whether I’m on stage or writing music or recording songs, I just always try to put them first, and make sure that I can do a song that relates to them.

“‘Love You, Miss You, Mean It’ certainly feels like it has been,” he continues. “To have it be No. 31 is pretty crazy. When I go back and look at the list of 31, it freaks me out. I don’t wanna keep talking about it, ’cause I’m scared the streak’s gonna end.”

Bryan will kick off his Country Song Came On Tour on May 29 in Bethel, New York. The tour will wrap up on August 30 in Buffalo, New York Find all of Bryan’s music and upcoming shows at LukeBryan.com.
