Luke Combs is a dad! The singer-songwriter reveals on social media that he and his wife, Nicole Hocking, welcomed their son, Tex Lawrence Combs, into the world on June 19, giving Combs the best Father’s Day present ever.

“Welp he decided that Fathers Day would be a good time to show up,” Combs shared on social media, along with a photo of the family of three. “I couldn’t agree more. Me and Nicole Hocking are over the moon in love with this little guy. Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”

 

Combs previously predicted that he could be a father by Father’s Day, when he gave his final live performance, at CMA Fest, before the arrival of his baby boy. He also said that he plans on being the main diaper-changer when his son arrived, at least for a while.

“I’m just trying to get through the diaper stage,” Combs tells The Tennessean. “I’m assuming that I will probably end up doing a lot of that. I just figure I’ll be changing my fair share of diapers after tonight, for sure. I’m assuming I’ll end up doing a lot of that, man. I would think so. She had to grow him for nine months, so I figure I can at least do something at this point.

“It’s like, you don’t really do anything for nine months,” he continues. “If you didn’t do anything after that, [you’re] kind of like a deadbeat at that point. So I just figure I’ll be changing my fair share of diapers after tonight, for sure.  This is my last show as a not-dad, Confirmed. Maybe I’ll be a dad by Father’s Day. Who knows?”

It’s a busy week for Combs. In addition to adjusting to his new role as a father, the North Carolina native will also release his third studio album, Growin’ Up, on Friday, June 24.
