Luke Combs Announces 18-Track New Album, Out in March

Luke Combs has another album coming out later this year, and it’s a big one. The Grand Ole Opry member announces on social media a new, 18-track project, out on March 24.

The new record comes less than a year after Combs’ 2022  Growin’ Up album, out last June. That project included two No. 1 singles, “Don’ This” and “The Kind of Love We Make,” as well as his current single, “Going, Going, Gone.”

Combs has, at least on his previous three albums, co-written all of the songs on his records. He did record one outside song when making Growin’ Up, but ultimately decided not to include it on the album.

“I just like that part of it so much, the writing thing,” Combs told Billboard. “I’m sure that my albums would probably be even more successful if I cut outside songs because [there are] songwriters a lot better than I am, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.”

Combs is heading into 2023 as the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, for the second year in a row — an honor he wasn’t at all confident he would win last November.

“I remember last year when I won, a bunch of people reached out to me after winning,” Combs recalled backstage at the CMA Awards. “They said, ‘Hey man, you just enjoy tonight. It may never happen again. And it’s the pinnacle of success that you could have in this business.’ And I’m not gonna lie to you, I was so nervous tonight about it. I was doing some interviews on Monday, and people were asking me about it. And I remember having this somber thought of, ‘Oh man, this could be the last two days that I’m in here ever. I may never witness again.’ And so really, it’s just being present in the moment that you’re in now.”

Combs, whose Growin’ Up album also won the CMA Award for Album of the Year, will embark on his World Tour in March. The global trek kicks off on March 25 in Arlington, Texas, and will play in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and more, before wrapping up on October 19 in the UK.

Riley GreenLainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry and Brent Cobb will serve as the opening acts for some dates, with Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman taking over opening act duties for some of the overseas dates as well.
