Luke Combs, Ashley Gorley Among MusicRow Awards Winners

Luke Combs and Ashley Gorley are just two of the winners of the recent MusicRow Awards, held online this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Luke won for Artist of the Year, while Ashley won for Male Songwriter of the Year.

Ingrid Andress won three awards, for Song of the Year (for “More Hearts Than Mine”), Breakthrough Artist-Writer of the Year, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Other winners include Hillary Lindsey, who won for Female Songwriter of the Year, Dann Huff, who won Producer of the Year, and Randy Montana, who won Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year.

Luke just announced the release of a deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, on October 23. The album will include all of the songs on his sophomore What You See Is What You Get, along with five new tracks.

Ashley Gorley just set a new world record with 50 No. 1 songs, marking the first time, in any genre, a songwriter has had such success.

“I love what I do,” Ashley said in a statement. “I love writing songs – the challenge, the process, and the way that each day brings something different. 50 No.1s is an achievement I’m proud of and grateful for, but I’m even more grateful for the friendships these 50 No. 1s have granted me; friendships with the artists that have given these songs life and success, my co-writers who motivate me to dig deeper each day, and mentors and early believers who continue to cheer me on.

“I stay inspired by my Tape Room family who I try to provide with those same beliefs, friendships, and mentorships,” he added. “Thank you to everyone who made this possible, especially the radio teams who work tirelessly for these songs to be heard.”
