Luke Combs has another new song to share with his fans. The father of one just released “5 Leaf Clover,” which he wrote with Jessi Alexander and Chase McGill. The song is from his forthcoming Gettin’ Old album, out on Friday, March 24.
Combs shared the story behind the song on social media.
“A while back my buddy Newdy and I were looking around the clover plot at my house for 4 leaf clovers,” Combs recalled. “I eventually found one, but shortly thereafter, he found a 5 Leaf Clover and I thought to myself, ‘Man, how lucky do you have to be to find a 5 Leaf Clover?’ Didn’t think too much of it at the time but wrote that down as a title in my phone. A few weeks later, I was writing with Jessi Alexander and Chase McGill and it came up. It still wasn’t really anything that jumped off the page to me, but I shared the idea and guitar melody I had with them and they loved it.
“We ended up writing the song that day,” he continued. “I eventually started playing it at shows and posting a video of the song, and y’all quickly let me know it was one I had to record; that’s why I’m super pumped for y’all to finally hear it THIS Friday, March 17!”

Combs just made history with his latest single, “Going, Going, Gone.” The song marks his 15th single, and his 15th consecutive No. 1 hit, something no other artist in country music history has ever done.
“I’ve always loved this song, and I’ve always believed in it since we wrote it,” Combs said of the track, while backstage at the 2023 Grammy Awards. “It’s a little bit different than the things that we’ve done in the past, so I was kind of nervous about putting this song out and seeing what people’s reactions to it would be, just because it is a little bit left of center of what I usually do, but I think it’s a perfect fit for this show.
“And I’m excited for a lot of people who’ve maybe never heard of me or listened to me before, to kind of get a chance to at least hear me and go, ‘Oh, this guy’s not so bad!’” he added.
Combs will embark on his World Tour in March 25 in Arlington, Texas, and will play in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and more, before wrapping up on October 19 in the UK. Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry and Brent Cobb will serve as the opening acts for some dates, with Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman taking over opening act duties for some of the overseas dates as well.
