The list of artists included in this year’s American Currents exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame has been revealed, and includes several of today’s top hitmakers. Luke Combs and Lainey Wilson will be part of this year’s exhibit, along with Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, HARDY, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, Post Malone, Chris Stapleton, Taylor Swift, and Morgan Wallen, among others.
“The museum’s annual American Currents exhibition examines a wide variety of music and events that took place the prior year,” Kyle Young, Chief Executive Officer of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, says. “Last year, we witnessed innovative collaborations, well-deserved honors and the continued expansion of country and roots-inspired music’s reach to broader audiences. American Currents allows us to highlight these significant moments within the context of music history.”
In addition, a section of the exhibit, called “Unbroken Circle,” will feature the musical connections between younger artists and artists who have influenced them and their music. Featured artifact pairings include Wyatt Ellis and Sierra Hull, Jamey Johnson and Ella Langley, Zach Top and Keith Whitley and Kaitlin Butts and Miranda Lambert.
Items featured in this year’s American Currents exhibit include clothing by Wilson, Moroney, Post Malone, Langley and more, plus instruments and other memorabilia.
The news for Combs comes as he already has an exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The father of two is the subject of The Man I Am exhibit, which opened in July.
“Once I decided I wanted to do music as a career, it didn’t matter if it was for 100 people or 1,000 people, I just wanted to be playing country music for anyone who would listen,” Combs said when the exhibit was announced. “If I could have enough fans to call it a job, I was set. Other than that, I never dreamed of being featured in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, much less having my own exhibit; that was beyond my wildest dreams.”
“But honestly, it’s all a credit to my fans, family, songwriters and team,” he added. “I have only made it to where I am today because of them, and this honor is one of my most humbling yet. At my core I love country music and this exhibit is as prestigious of an honor as it gets.”
Other artists featured in this year’s American Currents exhibit include Jessi Alexander, Amythyst Kiah, Carin León, Shelby Lynne, Orville Peck, The Red Clay Strays, Shaboozey, Billy Strings, Turnpike Troubadours and Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway. The annual American Currents exhibit will open this year on March 5. Find more information at CountryMusicHallofFame.org.
