Luke Combs Receives a Star on the Music City Walk of Fame

Luke Combs has a star on the Music City Walk of Fame. The singer received the star on Thursday, March 20, one day after he performed as part of Opry 100: A Live Celebration. Combs’ ceremony was originally slated for earlier in the year, but had to be postponed so he could co-headline the Concert for Carolina, along with  Eric Church, raising almost $25 million for those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

“You never start in this business to get recognized or win awards,” Combs says. “We start with a love of music, and that’s what I have. I’ve been singing ever since I was a kid. It’s one of the only things that I feel like I’m actually really good at, and I’m very, very blessed to be able to do that on a scale beyond my wildest dreams. It’s so incredible to get to be standing up here today. Being on this Walk of Fame is something that I never could have planned for.”

Combs has had many awards, accolades and achievements over the years. For Combs, he has already far exceeded his biggest dreams for himself.

“I never would have imagined in a million years that it would have turned into what it turned into,” Combs admits. “It started as a dream. People ask me, ‘When did you make it in the music business?’ I get asked that question all the time. And the answer is always the same, All I wanted to do was be able to make a living playing music, and doing something that I loved. And that would have been paying my bills, living in a one-bedroom apartment by myself. I would have been happy doing that.

“So when I came to Nashville, there was never any expectations of, I need to be a superstar, and I need to play stadiums, or I need to get a publishing deal,” he adds. “It was just, ‘I want to be happy.’ And I’m so happy living the life I get to live now and living it with the people I get to live it with.”

Combs also shared his thoughts on social media, showing off his new star.

“When I moved from North Carolina to Nashville, I had no idea what the future held for me there,” Combs writes. “I only hoped I could do enough in country music to pay my bills. It was never about any kind of recognition, just the love of music. And I didn’t really know anyone here at the time, but I eventually met my wife and some of my best friends.

“I’ll be forever grateful for this and Music City taking me in as one of their own,” he continues. “I get to do what I love, which is singing country music, because of it. I feel honored to be in such prestigious company on the [Music City] Walk of Fame, so thank you to everyone who made this possible.”

Combs is in good company on the Music City Walk of Fame. He is joined by several notable artists, including Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Eric Church and Martina McBride, among others.
