Luke Combs‘ new wife Nicole makes a cameo in the video for his latest single, “Lovin’ on You.” The song features his bride of a little over a month at the end, after a childhood Luke tries to win over his elementary school crush at the skating rink.
“Lovin’ on You” is Luke’s fourth single from his sophomore What You See is What You Get record, and his ninth consecutive No. 1 single. He is nominated for six CMA Awards, including for two for Song of the Year, both for his “Even Though I’m Leaving” and the Carly Pearce and Lee Brice duet, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” as well as Entertainer of the Year.
“You know, you never really expect something like this when you move to Nashville,” Luke shared with his record label. “I mean, getting six CMA nominations is pretty insane. Two in the same category is just unbelievable, especially in a category that means so much to me, Song of the Year. And obviously, being in the conversation for Entertainer of the Year for the first time is such a huge deal, and having a seat at the table with Carrie and Miranda and Keith and Eric, people who I view as so far above me in this industry, it’s just an honor.”
Luke is also nominated for Album of the Year, for What You See is What You Get, marking his first-ever nomination in that category.
“Being nominated for Album of the Year is really crazy. I remember watching Eric Church win for Chief a number of years ago, and how much I love that album and how much it meant to me as an aspiring artist-songwriter at that time and just thinking, ‘Man, maybe one day I can make something that would even be considered for that.’ So it’s a really special moment as an artist.”
A deluxe version of What You See is What You Get will be released on October 23. Pre-order the album at LukeCombs.com.
