Luke Combs‘ Category 10 bar is now open. The Grand Ole Opry member had a hand in almost every part of designing the massive space, including one surprising touch: 18 recliners in the 5 Leaf Clover Sprts Bar.
“There’s not really a lot of comfortable bar seating for a larger gentleman like myself, so I wanted that,” Combs explains to People. “I made it happen!”
In addition the comfortable seating, the 5 Leaf Clover Sports Bar also has eight big screen televisions, plus a real-time sports ticker for diehard sports fans. Combs did it with his fans in mind, but also for himself.
“A lot of times if I’m with friends or family, I really want to go and do the Nashville thing,” Combs says. “I figured there’s got to be other people that would crave a little bit of just calmness amongst the pure chaos that is down here.”

Category 10 has something for everyone, including songwriters, bachelorette partygoers, and more.
“There’s an area that is like a high-end bourbon room, pretty much,” says Combs, referring to the second floor place called The Still. “When I come here, that’s the place I can bring friends or family. They can go out and enjoy the bar and do the whole deal, and I can still be here and be present.”
“I can’t really pop out and hit the dance floor like everybody else, as much as I’d love to,” he adds. “But yeah, it’s cool how you can have so many different vibes in one place.”
Combs, who is part of the Country Music Hall of Fame’s American Currents exhibit, also has his own memorabilia scattered throughout all of the floors, making it also a deeply personal place for Combs.
“This is a really great place for them to live,” the father of two says. “I love that people get to see this stuff and enjoy it. I think of musical artists that I love. Seeing that stuff is so cool to me as a fan.”

Combs’ influence permeates every aspect of Category 10, including the menu, offering something for everyone.
“I love the trout,” Combs, who calls Category 10 a “dream come true,” reveals. “[Trout] isn’t something you would think about, but it’s very good. And then, I love the burgers.
“And I really love the ranch flight,” he says referring to the three kinds of ranch: buttermilk, cayenne and avocado. “I wanted the menu to be big-guy friendly.”
Category 10 isn’t the only project Combs is working on. He is also putting the finishing touches on what he says is the best record he has ever made.
“I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks working on what my next record looks like,” Combs reveals on social media. “And as it begins to take shape I can honestly say I’ve never felt better about one at this stage. It’s early on but I really do think it could wind up being the best record I’ve ever made.”
