It’s the end of an era for pizza lovers in Nashville. The iconic Manny’s House of Pizza, opened for 39 years in downtown Music City, announces it is closing for good, amid construction in the area.
Owner Manny Macca shared the disappointing news on social media, explaining that it is because of their location, inside the Arcade building, that they are being forced to close, due to massive renovations on the building.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the closure of Manny’s House of Pizza after an incredible 39 years in the Arcade,” a statement reads on social media, signed by Manny & Family. “The Arcade building is undergoing a major transformation, leaving us unable to operate with a full kitchen.
“From my origins in Sicily, Italy to my journey through New York and eventually settling in Nashville, my family and I are immensely grateful for all of the wonderful memories and support we have received,” he continues. “It has been the greatest pleasure serving multiple generations of families in Nashville an welcoming tourists from all over the world. Your patronage has meant everything to us. We are unsure what the future holds for us in the Arcade at this time, but we hope to see you all again.”
This double crust pizza is called the HITMAN for obvious reasons 👊🏼 🍕

According to the restaurant’s website, Manny’s House of Pizza began after Macca relocated to Music City from the Big Apple, where he had worked in Brooklyn’s most popular pizza restaurant while putting himself through college.
Ironically, Macca moved to Nashville to focus on songwriting as a career. He began working at what was then House of Pizza, before relocating to New York City with his brother Joey to open their own pizzeria together. But when he found out that House of Pizza was for sale, Macca returned to Nashville, and Manny’s House of Pizza was born.
“I bought the business,” Macca told Nashville Lifestyles in 2018. “When I got here, the place was in shambles. But we got it cleaned up and in no time the customers were lining out the door.”
No word yet what will go in at the place formerly occupied by Manny’s House of Pizza. Follow them on Facebook for updates.
