Three more ACM Awards have been announced! The trophies, for Music Event of the Year, Video of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, were given out on Monday, September 14.
“Fooled Around and Fell in Love” by Miranda Lambert with Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack and Elle King won for Music Event of the Year. Other nominees in the category included “10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay with Justin Bieber, “Dive Bar” by Garth Brooks with Blake Shelton, “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X with Billy Ray Cyrus, and “What Happens in a Small Town” by Brantley Gilbert with Lindsay Ell.
The ACM Award for Video of the Year went to Thomas Rhett for “Remember You Young.” Other nominees in the category included Dan + Shay’s “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber, Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country,” Old Dominion’s “One Man Band,” and Little Big Town’s “Sugar Coat.”
Hillary Lindsey won for Songwriter of the Year. She shared the category with Ashley Gorley, Josh Osborne, Michael Hardy and Shane McAnally. This is Hillary’s first time to win the ACM Award for Songwriter of the Year. Her recent cuts include Luke Bryan’s “Knockin’ Boots,” Miranda’s “It All Comes Out in the Wash” and Carrie Underwood’s “Cry Pretty,” among others.
Taylor Swift was just announced a performer for the 2020 ACM Awards. She joins a long list of artists previously announced, including Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Mickey Guyton, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, and Morgan Wallen.
The 2020 ACM Awards will air live from the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe on Wednesday, September 16, at 8:00 PM ET on CBS. Keith Urban, who will perform “One Too Many” with Pink, from his upcoming The Speed of Now Part 1 album, will serve as the host for the three-hour ceremony.
