Music City Grand Prix Coming to Nashville in 2021

The Music City Grand Prix is coming to Nashville in 2021! After months of rumors and speculation, the news was officially announced on Wednesday, September 16. The three-day event will take place from August 6 to 8, and include artist performances, Nashville cuisine, and IndyCar racing in the streets of downtown Nashville.

Kix Brooks has already signed on to perform, with more artists expected to be announced shortly.

“With Nashville’s deep motorsports roots, combined with its ability to deliver world-class live music, the Music City Grand Prix is certain to throw a party that only Nashville can deliver, buckle up – it’s gonna be a wild ride,” Kix said in a statement.

Big Machine Label Group President and CEO Scott Borchetta is an investor in the event, and eager to bring one of America’s favorite sports to Music City.

“As a partner, Big Machine will be bringing all of its entertainment experience to ensure that the inaugural IndyCar weekend will combine all things music and racing for an incredible weekend of entertainment,” he said. “You don’t have to be a race fan to enjoy what this event will bring to the city. But I bet you leave a race fan.”

The race marks a return to Nashville for the IndyCar, which previously ran at the Nashville Superspeedway from 2001-08.

The temporary track will go around Nissan Stadium and down Korean Veteran’s Blvd. It will be one of the first tracks to ever send IndyCar drivers over water. More information can be found at MusicCityGP.com.
